UFC Shenzhen goes down today (Sat. August 31, 2019) from the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre. The world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion compiled an excellent card for fight fans to enjoy.

It’s headlined by a meeting between UFC women’s strawweight champion Jessica Andrade and challenger Weili Zhang.

Andrade (20-6) is riding a four-fight win streak with victories over Claudia Gadelha, Tecia Torres and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. In her latest fight, Andrade had a memorable night when she KO’d Rose Namajunas by a slam in the second round to win the UFC women’s strawweight title.

Zhang (19-1) is 3-0 under the UFC banner. She holds wins over Danielle Taylor and Jessica Aguilar. In her latest fight, she beat Tecia Torres by decision at the UFC 235 PPV event on March 2, 2019 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The co-headliner will see Li Jingliang vs. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in a welterweight bout take place.

Mark De La Rosa vs. Kai Kara-France in a flyweight bout, Song Kenan vs. Derrick Krantz in a welterweight bout bout, and Mizuki Inoue vs. Wu Yanan in a flyweight bout will round out the main card.

Further Details on CMLL-WWE Talks

Further Details on CMLL-WWE Talks

Last week news circulated about a potential CMLL-WWE discussion. Wrestling News World’s Thomas Fenton has learned a few more details about this situation.

Thomas Fenton reports:

Wrestling News World has learned that CMLL was nervous about the AEW-AAA relationship and how it would benefit their longtime rival company. CMLL approached WWE to have a discussion about a potential partnership. The discussions were with Triple H. CMLL wants access to WWE talent, which Triple H was interested in on a limited basis. However, WWE would want the ability to buy out CMLL deals if the company had interest in their talent. WWE has an interest in one particular CMLL talent, who is unnamed at this time, and would like to use these terms to buyout that contract. At this time, Wrestling News World can confirm that CMLL is not for sale. The discussion was simply a working relationship in response to the ever-changing wrestling landscape in 2019.

Thanks for watching!Visit Website

Current CMLL President, Sofia Alonso, said earlier this year in a rare interview, “she has no plans for a new era and wants to keep the good things CMLL and Pace Alonso have already done. She would like to see the different departments working closer together while continuing the traditions of Lucha Libre. Sofia expects there will be differences because she comes from a different generation than her father, but doesn’t expect them to be big changes.” She also stated, “CMLL going down is not an option.”

No information has been provided concerning the extent this partnership would effect CMLL’s existing relationship with New Japan pro Wrestling. Wrestling News World will provide you more information on this potential partnership as we receive them.

As of today the schedules will all have to be changed. It is also unknown if the big NXT events will also be held the weekend of the big four WWE events. WWE does not want to oversaturate the audience, but does want to run the big shows head to head.

Amanda Nunes vs. Germaine de Randamie 2 Set For UFC 245

A rematch between Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie is set and Nunes’ 135-pound gold will be on the line.

Sources told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that Nunes vs. de Randamie 2 is being booked for UFC 245. The event will take place on Dec. 14 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The placement of the bout on this card has not been revealed. Nunes will be going for her fifth successful UFC women’s bantamweight title defense.

Back in Nov. 2013, Nunes and de Randamie shared the Octagon. This was just the second fight under the UFC banner for both competitors. “The Lioness” ended up stopping “The Iron Lady” in the first round via TKO. Now, de Randamie will be vying for revenge and gold.

Nunes last competed at UFC 239 last month. She defended the women’s bantamweight title against Holly Holm. A head kick, following by punches on the ground ended Holm’s night. It was Nunes’ second first-round finish in a row.

As for de Randamie, her last bout also ended in the opening frame. She earned a TKO victory over Aspen Ladd in just 16 seconds. Going into the rematch with Nunes, de Randamie is riding a five-fight winning streak.

Stick with MMA News for more details on the UFC 245 card as they become available.

Thomas Fenton Reports

In a previous WNW Premium article a little over a month ago, we touched on the possibility of All Elite Wrestling running an event at Madison Square Garden in New York later on in the year or early next year.

During the time that I reported, I wrote that AEW inquired about Madison Square Garden and the rent of the venue. I can now confirm weeks later that talks and discussions have gotten much deeper and there’s more to look into.

While I cannot confirm that a deal has been reached between AEW and MSG as of this writing, the feeling of them running an event there is a strong possibility to that of the company running their first PPV there after the launch of their tv deal on TNT.

As we reported in premium Monday, AAA was removed out of MSG due to multiple reasons including lack luster ticket sales.

Premium News On The Fiend, WWE Finding Trouble With NXT On TV, AEW Scouting For Major Stars

The following article is part of our premium news section. If you’re interested in this news and you’re not a premium subscriber, why not give it a try? We put out breaking premium news and backstage news on a frequent basis that we can 100% confirm. If you ARE a premium member, welcome back! Thanks for helping us do what we do!

WWE not using ‘The Fiend’ or the Firefly Funhouse on this week’s Raw or Smackdown Live was their attempt at showing restraint for the character and trying to keep him special, with fans wanting more and more. Everyone within WWE thought ‘The Fiend’ debuting at SummerSlam was an overall success. Bray’s entrance has only been out-viewed by Edge returning to spear Elias. While WWE has not booked anything long term, they do have an outlook on this much further than most angles and ideas, and it has been planned out well in advance. ‘The Fiend’ merchandise has already been a huge seller for WWE with his box set and two other items selling out and going on backorder in hours.

Thanks for watching!Visit Website

WWE is continuing to run into obstacles with the timing of a NXT move to live television. As discussed before, it would be a daunting task to pull this all off by the  first week of October. Venue will be and is one of the biggest issues for not only WWE but AEW as well. As many cities as the companies would like to run weekly simply do not have a 4-6k area. For those asking, Full Sail University also has a very challenging schedule for booking, so even if it came down to just running weekly tv there, many feel the show will not come off big across television. Let’s not forgot that investors and many in the stock market segment will not see a WWE developmental company. They will see it as a Wednesday Night WWE show. This is also acting as that fine line for WWE as the live two hour show would have to be a brand and not a developmental system. The moving parts in this story are incredible and it will be interesting to see how and if WWE can pull this off by October or if this becomes a later launch as we have speculated before.

It should come to no surprise that AEW is attempting to get a Mount Rushmore style pro wrestling star for week one of tv. Tony Khan has been very relentless in trying to make this happen and many names were discussed or even talked with previously have been locked up by WWE in one way or another. Tony will and the AEW team will try to get the biggest star and stars they can for tv.

The AAA MSG show is absolutely up in the air at this point. Advance ticket sales are poor and little announced for the show. In addition to this, legal and visa work issues are also becoming a problem.

Bray Wyatt hadn’t been seen on television since a Monday Night Raw show in November of last year. After his claim for gold at the Elimination Chamber, successfully capturing it in February of 2017. His title reign wasn’t memorable as he seemed to be a transitional champion to Randy Orton in a rather lackluster match at WrestleMania a couple of months later.

Thanks for watching!Visit Website

After this, Wyatt’s mystique and eeriness seemed to go down hill from this point. Time passed by and Wyatt was ‘lost in the shuffle’, barely making any television appearances and when he did, he would lose.

It wasn’t until we saw the creation of ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy, or better known as ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy during his time with Impact Wrestling, that we saw Wyatt get more involved in the picture with WWE. This then brought out the creative mindsets of Hardy and Wyatt together, forming the ‘Ultimate Deletion’ under the WWE name. I should add that this was the main event of an episode of Monday Night Raw that went on for a better half of 20 minutes at the Hardy Compound. Of course, this was to introduce Matt’s new persona to WWE television, but it made Wyatt look like a star in the making, bringing back some mystique to his cult leader persona.

After this, we saw Wyatt and Hardy join forces and became Raw Tag Team Champions at one point, but ultimately, Hardy was taken out from competition and Wyatt was left alone, going back to being lost in the shuffle, and then disappearing for almost an entire year.

Fast forward to after WrestleMania of this past year, and vignettes were being shown on both Raw and Smackdown Live of these puppets and rocking chairs. All clues led to a Wyatt return, but to our surprise, no one knew what we were about to witness. After weeks of these vignettes, the world was introduced to the first episode of The FireFly Funhouse. Bray discussed that he was gone for a while but during the time he was gone, he was healing and referred to his past as being a bad man. He came off as a smiley character who could do no wrong, yet, you could sense something was up and there was much more left to be told from Bray Wyatt. Weeks of the Funhouse continued, as Wyatt expressed that there was so much more darkness that he holds in his mind and a big secret that he was keeping from everyone. That secret, was ‘The Fiend’, the alternate persona of Bray Wyatt that you could compare to a horror movie of which, a demonic character, some would say. He would switch back and forth for two months between Bray and ‘The Fiend’, fighting against himself in his head. It wasn’t until last month, where we saw ‘The Fiend’ live on Monday Night Raw, and attacked Finn Balor with Sister Abigail.

The upcoming weeks were no different, ‘The Fiend’ would return to take out the likes of WWE Hall of Famers Mick Foley and Kurt Angle, all during the time that he would be in an upcoming match with Balor at SummerSlam. Wyatt warned Balor that the ‘The Fiend’ was coming for him, and that is exactly what happened.

Moving forward to SummerSlam, Balor wore all white, as some would say it was a sign for good or possibly heavenly, while others would call Balor the ‘Sacrificial Lamb’. The entrance for Wyatt was nothing short of excellent. Phone lights lit up the arena in Toronto, as ‘The Fiend’ walked down the aisle with his lantern, but not just any lantern. It was a lantern of his previous persona’s head, which was an awesome detail.

The match itself was good and short, just like it needed to be. ‘The Fiend’ demolished Balor and executed the Mandible Claw on him for the pinfall.

At this point, WWE should have known they have lighting in a bottle with Wyatt and this persona. For the first time in a long time, I feel like Wyatt has found himself and the mystique and creepiness is at an all time high. I would compare this to the mystique of the legendary career of The Undertaker, who protected his career for 30 years. This needs to happen with ‘The Fiend’. He is the most talked about and most entertaining on WWE programming today. Wyatt doesn’t need to be on television each week. It will water down his persona, and next thing you know, he’s back to square one. WWE needs to stay behind him with his creation. If we saw Firefly Funhouse episodes of Bray each week or every two weeks, that would be awesome. ‘The Fiend’ is a special attraction and should be treated as if he is one. They do not need to throw him straight to the title picture. I would hold him off from any matches until Survivor Series, but have him destroy people in the process randomly on episodes of Raw and Smackdown.

I think it would be amazing to see ‘The Fiend’ take people out, then once he comes out, have lanterns with superstars’ heads and keep them in the Funhouse.

Wyatt seems to be all in on this, and so should WWE. As a fan, we all should be waiting and anticipating for what’s to come next for Wyatt and ‘The Fiend’, and the spooky and creepy feeling of this should be protected for years to come.

This Week’s Smackdown Live Viewership (08/13/19)

This week’s episode of Smackdown Live, which featured a main event of Randy Orton and The Revival vs The New Day, drew in an average of 2.16 million viewers.

This was up from last week’s viewership of 2.1 million viewers.

Ryan’s Thought: Not much of an increased but I’m sure WWE will take it since it’s over 2 million.

Dana White Weighs In On Henry Cejudo’s Callout Of Valentina Shevchenko

UFC president Dana White has given his take on Henry Cejudo’s callout of Valentina Shevchenko.

Cejudo holds bantamweight and flyweight gold, while Shevchenko reigns as the women’s 125-pound champion. “Triple C” is running with his cringe gimmick and has gone as far as to tease a “champ-champ” fight with Amanda Nunes, who also holds two belts. His callout of Shevchenko, however, has taken the spotlight.

“So I’m out here enjoying my beautiful Sunday in beautiful Las Vegas, but my phone just keeps blowing up that someone by the name of Valentina ‘The Bullet’ Shevchenko is the most dominant champion in the world,” Cejudo began. “And guess what? I get a little jelly. Because you know what? She has gold, and I want that gold.

“Valentina Shevchenko, I have a message for you,” Cejudo continued. “I’m looking to become the first intergender world champ that this world has ever seen. I’m calling you out. You can be the next to bend the knee to Triple C.”

Shevchenko took to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani MMA Show to respond to Cejudo (via MMAMania.com).

“Be careful what you wish because he is the all gold hunter, but I can make it happen that he will lose all of his gold forever.”

Speaking to reporters in Las Vegas, White reacted to Cejudo’s message to Shevchenko (via MMAJunkie.com).

“That’s the wackiest sh*t I’ve ever heard,” White said. “It’s just (expletive) crazy that Henry would say that. But Valentina would probably do it. I don’t even know how to respond to that or what to say other than ‘wow.’”

“I can’t even (expletive) wrap my brain around that, why he would say that?” White continued. ”It’s just crazy, but … what are you gonna do?”

What do you make of Henry Cejudo’s callout? Is he trying to generate more heat, or does he truly want to fight Valentina Shevchenko?

Conor McGregor & Anthony Pettis Are On ‘Collision Course’

Conor McGregor & Anthony Pettis Are On ‘Collision Course’

Anthony Pettis is on a collision course with Nate Diaz heading into this weekend’s (Sat., August 17, 2019) UFC 241 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

But it’s a collision of a different sort that has ‘Showtime’s’ longtime head coach Duke Roufus talking. Speaking during this week’s episode of “Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show” (via MMA Junkie), Roufus speculated that Pettis would soon be on a path with megastar Conor McGregor. Roufus speculated that a finish over Diaz would raise McGregor’s interest:

“That other fight that’s looming out there I think that’s going to pique a lot of interest when Anthony does the business Saturday, I see him and Conor McGregor being on a collision course. I think it’s definitely going to get Conor’s attention when Anthony beats a guy that beat him and another guy that he won by close decision – especially if Anthony does what I think he’s capable of doing and stopping Nate Diaz.”

Pettis Was’McGregor Before McGregor?’

Pettis has seen it all throughout his decorated fighting career. He saw the highs of the game when he surged to the UFC lightweight championship. But ‘Showtime’ also experienced the downside of fights when he lost the title. A long down period of inconsistency and injury plagued Pettis. He rebounded with a huge win by knocking out Stephen Thompson in his 170-pound debut in March.

He’s on the cusp of yet another huge fight now. Roufus believes Pettis’ biggest fights will come in the twilight of Pettis’ career. The respected trainer made the bold comparison suggesting that Pettis was McGregor before McGregor came along. That would only add to a potential match-up in his opinion:

“I think Anthony’s trying to get those big challenges on the way out the door of his career,” Roufus said. “Anthony was the Conor before Conor was Conor, the kid with the flashy suits, the look, the style, the pizazz, and he could fight like that, so it would be the makings of quite the super fight.”

Finally Back To Health

Pettis was no doubt all flash inside and out of the Octagon, but there are few who would argue he was on McGregor’s level in terms of trash talk and self-promotion. No one would ever confuse Pettis’ pay-per-view (PPV) numbers with those of ‘The Notorious,’ either. McGregor is also out of action. While many have speculated about his return, he’ll probably only come back for one huge rematch.

Roufus closed by insisting Pettis was finally healthy again. And in that physical state, the sky is the limit for the create Pettis:

“We’ve had a lot of bad times, bad injuries, different things that set him off course,” Roufus said. “He’s gotten very healthy. He’s 100 percent healthy again, back in ‘Next Level,’ where J. J. Watt was manufactured.

“Anthony Pettis is a dangerous man when he’s healthy, to be able to do strength and conditioning along with his training. He’s very innovative for this fight, creative, a lot of fun and just about that life, ready to do the business Saturday night.”

Will we witness the old “Showtime” somehow earn a fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 241?

Ryan’s SummerSlam 2019 Review- Let Him In

Welcome everyone back to Wrestling News World! With just about 18 hours past The Biggest Party of the Summer, SummerSlam, join me down below as I go over and review last night’s SummerSlam that was held in Toronto!

Becky Lynch vs Natalya for the Raw Women’s Championship in a Submission Match

A strong way to kickoff the night with a home country return for Natalya. The crowd wanted to see Natayla get the victory and the Sharpshooter is super over (Yes I know why). Ultimately, we saw Becky tap out Nattie and that’s because WWE hates to have people win in their hometown or country. Regardless, both women worked hard and it showed.

Match Rating- B+

Dolph Ziggler vs Goldberg

I was a fan of how this played out. Goldberg came off as such a badass, where Ziggler did not back down once and got face to face with Goldberg. I was expecting a squash (it sort of was), and I did not expect to see Ziggler hit multiple Super Kicks on Goldberg to start the match off. The way Goldberg sold them like he was rocked straight to the mat. When he hit the spear on Ziggler, my gosh I thought Ziggler was going on half. After the match was what made it all for me. Ziggler grabbed a mic and told Goldberg that he hit like a baby, and Goldberg gave him another spear. After going to the back, Ziggler grabbed a mic and talked more, preparing for another Goldberg beat down once more. I had a great time watching this!

Match Rating- A (It was a segment more than a match, but nonetheless)

AJ Styles vs Ricochet for the United States Championship

This was definitely a pace changer for when it comes to the two men working the match. Styles kept Ricochet’s high flying offense to a minimum and worked him over the inured leg. The O.C. got involved, Styles capitalized with a sick Styles Clash for the win

Match Rating- B-

Bayley vs Ember Moon for the Smackdown  Live Women’s Championship

A Strong outing between both women and my gosh Moon is so talented. I didn’t have any expectations for her to win gold here but she deserves it. I wish we’d see Bayley become this badass heel that will fight anyone at any time. Good match between Moon and Bayley and the right person went over.

Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon

WWE has to stop with these, “If I lose, I quit” stipulations. It’s just not believable. Maybe if I was ten years old, but now, not gonna happen. Obviously KO was gonna win. The story played out, KO had the odds stacked against him and he overcame the evil heel, Shane McMahon. I’m not hating on this, I’m just saying it can get old. I love that Owens has a rocket strapped on him, he’s over like rover. Hopefully now we can finally move on from Shane being a vocal point on tv so we can have more opportunities to create more stars.

Match Rating- B

Charlotte Flair vs Trish Stratus

Can anyone say dream match? Holy cow what a match this was. I had my doubts about Trish returning for a match against arguably the best female competitor in the wrestling business today, Charlotte Flair. Once that bell rang, all my worry went away as there was no sign of ring rust whatsoever. It was definitely a passing of the torch match, the best of one generation vs the best of another generation. Great match.

Match Rating- A

Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship

Kofi and Randy both have great chemistry and such a history together. Good match that had a bad ending in which resulted in the crowd delivering backlash for it. The count out or whatever happened was bad and killed the entire mood of the match. I understand why as they want to keep the rivalry going, but I was not a fan of how it ended up.

Match Rating- C+

Finn Balor vs ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt

I’m going to be completely biased here, and I am sure I’m speaking for most of everyone here, this was the highlight of the night. The months of the Funhouse episodes and the attacks on these past few weeks on Raw, I have loved it all. This creation by Wyatt has been outstanding and this character has the mystique like that of the Undertaker and it needs to be protected. I will go on to say that his entrance last night was the coolest, yet creepy, in the history of WWE. The new music is a heavy metal of his original theme with him carrying a lantern of his old persona’s head. He destroyed Balor in oblivion and I loved every second. He needs to be built like a unstoppable force and shouldn’t be on every Raw or Smackdown, and hell, maybe even every PPV. As long as WWE DOES not mess this up, I’ll be more than happy.

Match Rating- A+

Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship

I have a few questions for WWE. First off, why would you put the Money in the Bank Briefcase on Brock Lesnar and The Universal Championship on Rollins just for them to have them flip flop the belt back and forth. Rollins won it at Mania. Brock won the MITB case, then cashed in to win it last month on Rollins to win the Universal Championship, just to lose it last night. For what reason? I am not a fan. Regardless, Rollins is champion once again and it’ll be on Raw every week. The crowd was against him at the beginning but he brought them back on his side by the end. Brutal match, but very ideal of what it was to be. I would have had Wyatt end the show, but Lesnar on last is kind of the normal.

Match Rating- B

Overall Show

I can’t complain too much about this show as I sat and enjoyed majority of the show. It was much better than TakeOver in my opinion. It started out hot with the Submission match and kept the gas pedal down throughout the night. I’m happy with the match quality, but some booking decisions I questioned. If you haven’t seen SummerSlam, I’d go out of my way to see the show…

Latest Signing For AEW – WWE Wrestling News World

It was announced Monday afternoon by All Elite Wrestling (AEW), that they have officially signed up and coming independent wrestler, Orange Cassidy.

For those who do not know who Orange Cassidy is, he is an up and coming independent wrestler who recently has been booked on nearly every indie show in America over the last year.

Freshly Squeezed is known for his trademark lethargic entrance, his faded denim attire, and his trademark sunglasses.

Orange Cassidy is known to always be doing something in the ring and is typically involved in comedy matches, but has quite a bit of ability when he turns that switch. The center focus of his matches revolve around keeping his hands in his pockets and his sunglasses on his face.

Ryan’s NXT TakeOver Toronto Review

Welcome everyone back to Wrestling News World during SummerSlam weekend! We are just two days removed from NXT TakeOver Toronto! Check down below for my review of last night’s show!

The Street Profits vs The Undisputed Era

I love tag team matches, especially when it comes to NXT tag team matches. They usually all start TakeOver shows and I am cool with it. The matches get the night going strong. With this match, while it was good, it was definitely not my favorite. It started out slow and both teams seemed to have trouble clicking in the beginning minutes. Things started picking up down the stretch and I was a little more invested. I am glad the Street Profits picked up the win since they captured gold last TakeOver.

Match Rating- B

Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae

Both women worked very hard and the pace was fast and hard hitting. Shirai plays this badass heel that does not care and Candice played the face who did not give up. The story being played fit in perfectly and I am happy with the work both competitors put into this match.

Match Rating- A-

Velveteen Dream vs Pete Dunne vs Roderick Strong for the North American Championship

WOW. What a match between these three talented performers. All three men stood out and had a chance to showcase their work. Dream going over was a smart move but I was surprised to see Dunne get pinned and not Strong. Regardless, I was hooked the entire time and I was impressed with how things played out.

Match Rating- A

Shayna Baszler vs Mia Yim for the NXT Women’s Championship

I was not a fan of this match. They had to follow up a huge triple threat match and the crowd seemed like they were sitting on their hands. Meh.

Match Rating- C+

Adam Cole vs Johnny Gargano for the NXT Championship in a 2-out-of 3 Match

This was better than the previous two encounters between both men and I could have watched them for another hour. WWE announced the cage match with all the weapons to be the third fall, so everyone automatically knew it would go to the three falls. I would’ve been okay with a 2-0 sweep because we haven’t seen that in so long. Regardless, a great main event to a rather forgettable TakeOver event.

At first, it seemed hope for the bout was lost. Hooker said he wanted the bout, but insisted that Iaquinta wasn’t interested. “Raging” denied Hooker’s claim, but “The Hangman” told MMAJunkie.com that he was ready to move on.

“(Iaquinta is) not taking the fight; I’ll fight (Alexander) Hernandez,” Hooker said. “I’m going to be in Melbourne anyway, so I may as well have a fight,” Hooker said. “I felt good. That’s three of my last four fights that have been first-round knockouts. I have no idea why (Iaquinta) keeps leading the fans about fighting on the card, but the UFC is telling me it’s not happening. I’m indifferent. If he’s busy, I’ll move on. No tire kickers, please.”

Iaquinta is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Donald Cerrone. While Iaquinta hung in tough, he was battered by “Cowboy” as the fight got deeper. He’ll look to avoid back-to-back defeats.

As for Hooker, he’s coming off a first-round knockout victory over James Vick. The finish earned him a “Performance of the Night” bonus. Hooker has gone 5-1 in his last six outings.

NXT Toronto: TakeOver Live Coverage & Results (8/10/19)

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to another awesome Saturday of NXT TakeOver! Tonight, can Adam Cole retain his NXT title against Johnny Gargano? Can all of The Undisputed Era walk out of Toronto with gold? Who will leave as the NXT Women’s Champion? Grab some snacks, sit back and relax because tonight may be one for the books!

LIVE FROM TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA

The show starts off with a preview of the show, and whether or not UE can capture all of the NXT gold in 2019. Tonight is the night to put that theory to the test! The first match of the night, The Street Profits will put their Tag Team Championships on the line against Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly of the Undisputed Era!

Thanks for watching!Visit Website

The Street Profits (c) vs. The Undisputed Era – NXT Tag Team Championships

O’Reilly and Dawkins start the match toying with each other as the NXT crowd comes alive. Dawkins is manhandling O’Reilly with that size advantage. O’Reilly catches Dawkins’ foot and tags Fish in just before Ford comes in to take control of the match. Ford is displaying that athleticism and charisma tonight!

Fish catches Ford slipping and tags O’Reilly in. Ford quickly takes control back and gets Dawkins in. Both teams have been showing sheer chemistry. UE are starting to come alive. But of course, the champs are fighting back. Fish and O’Reilly are just using their years of experience together to keep Dawkins down. O’Reilly is straight up brawling over Dawkins and taunts Ford!

Fish tags in and goes at Ford, Ford drops to the mat and Dawkins lays out Fish and tags Ford in. Ford with the offense on Fish! He sets up for the infamous People’s Elbow but gets stopped by O’Reilly.

At ringside, UE drops Dawkins and team up on Ford. Fish tags back in and meets the champ up top. He gets dropped by Ford! O’Reilly distracts Ford and Fish catches him again. O’Reilly tags himself in. Fish with the manuever off the top rope and O’Reilly crashes down on the knee of Ford. He locks in the leg lock and nearly forces the champ to submit. Before Ford got to the rope, Fish dropped on top of him and O’Reilly pulls him back to the middle of the ring. Dawkins comes in to help and drops Fish on O’Reilly to break up the count.

Dawkins tags in and is on fire! Both teams are winding down and have traded back in forth. Ford tags back in, O’Reilly tags back in. They trade blows until UE both end up at ringside. Ford with the over the top rope dive! The Profits got UE back in the ring, Ford climbs the top rope. Dawkins spears both UE members and Ford hits O’Reilly with the Frog Splash to retain!

WINNERS by pinfall and STILL champions: The Street Profits

Wow! What a match! The crowd was in it the whole time, too! Surprised that the champs retained but it should be interesting to see what happens next week.

Coming up next, Io Shirai and Candace LeRae had a friendship. Io Shirai turned her back on LeRae after multiple failed attempts at NXT Women’s Champ, Shaina Baszler. Now they have it out for each other! Who will come out on top tonight?

Io Shirai vs. Candace LeRae

Candace LeRae came to the ring and immediately went after Io Shirai before the bell rang. Both of them went back and forth until Io dropped Candace on the announce table with a suplex. Candace beat the count and Io is displaying that mean streak, going to work on Candace. Candace is trying to get back into the fight but that mean streak of Io is living! Io drops Candace on her neck with some sort of Alabama Slam turned Irish Curse and a nearfall.

She goes up top but Candace moves out of the way to regain some control of this one. Candace is showing that fight but the damage from Io has been done. Candace applies a head scissors lock on Io but Io turns it around with the whiplash effect. She goes for the 619 but fails. Candace nearly took advantage of the counter but Io stops the momentum. Io hits the 619! That doesn’t keep Candace down and Io goes to ringside. Candace with the suicide diving DDT!

Neither woman can gain full control as fatigue is setting in. But both have so much heart, TOO MUCH to stay down. No one will stay down! Candace sits in the corner and Io with the double knee strike! Io is really looking impressive tonight! Candace counters Io into a reverse hurricanrana pin. And the swinging neckbreaker from the top rope for the near fall! Io drops Candace hard to the canvas with another nearfall! Who will stay down?!

Io climbs back up top and drops the moonsault on Candace with, yet, ANOTHER near fall! Io is in disbelief! She’s flipping out and locks in another head scissors lock. Candace is fading and she is gone to sleep!

WINNER by submission: Io Shirai

What a match between two elite women! Io Shirai looked amazing tonight!

As the introduction to the NXT North American Championship match started, “Bro” Matt Riddle came out to throw out a challenge to Killian Dain. Riddle wants redemption on Dain from when Dain wiped him out on NXT TV. And now, we have a brawl on our hands! Matt Riddle fought back on Dain and laid him out with some knees. Security came out but Riddle gave them those knees too. Dain dropped him and then the security guards that tried to stop them. Riddle jumped on Dain’s back but Dain is too strong! He runs off the stage with Bro on his back and takes a security guard with them.

Coming up next, who will leave Canada with the NXT North American Championship? Could it be UE’s Rodrick Strong? Could it be the former NXT UK Champion, Pete Dunne? Or will the Velveteen Dream retain? Let’s find out!

The Velveteen Dream (c) vs. Rodrick Strong vs. Pete Dunne – NXT North American Championship

Dream and Dunne stare each other down but Roddy wants all the attention. Dream shushes Roddy and gets laid out with a ferocious jab. All three men get to brawling. But then, Roddy becomes monkey in the middle to the two others and is laid out to ringside. Dunne gets welcomed back to NXT by Dream and the two go at it. Roddy comes out of nowhere and displays that aggression on Dunne and Dream. Dream gets laid out at ringside as Roddy goes to work on Dunne. Of course, nothing can keep the Bruiserweight down for long. Dream comes back in and beats String down as Dunne recovers on the outside.

Dream pays homage to the Hitman and locks in a sharpshooter on Strong! Dunne with the dropkick to Dream to break the hold. Back at ringside, Dream clubs Dunne. No one can gain an advantage on the inside or out! All three men give a triangle of clubbing blows! The NXT crowd in Toronto are all into it! Dunne and Dream meet on the top turnbuckle, Dunne wishbones Dreams fingers. Strong comes up with them and delivers the backdrop to Dunne, pulling Dream off right with them.

Dunne and Strong go at it. They end up in the corner with Dunne having Strong in a triangle hold, wishboning the fingers. Dream climbs up and drops an elbow to Dunne from across the ring! Strong picks up a boatload of energy!

Dunne catches the two with the wishbone. Dunne drops Strong and goes for the cover. Dream tries to distract the ref and the ref goes for the count! Dream stops the ref from counting to three. Dunne displays that mean streak. No man can stay down! Dream ends up ringside and Strong capitalizes, locking in Dunne with a Boston Crab. Dream breaks it up. Strong throws Dream outside, drops Dunne with the finisher and Dream breaks up the count! He covers Dunne and retains!

WINNER by pinfall and STILL champion: The Velveteen Dream

Once again, The Velveteen Dream displays another awesome match! Way to retain!

Up next, Mia Yim has her sights sets on the NXT Women’s Championship. Shaina Baszler is taking exception to the upbringing, and dream of the HBIC. Who will come out on top? Stay tuned!

Mia Yim vs. Shaina Baszler (c) – NXT Women’s Championship

Already, there is so much tension between the two. There’s always tension when Shaina Baszler is in the ring. Yim starts off toying with the champ. Baszler is trying to intimidate the challenger. But she refuses to be punked out. Yim is using every resource as she can, tugging at the champ’s ears, the corner of her mouth, her hair. Baszler actually looks pretty bothered. Yim had started building momentum and is capitalizing, going at the right arm of Baszler. Yim smashes the champs arm in the steel steps!

The champ flips the script on Yim and begins wearing her down. Baszler looks pretty hurt! But yet, so aggressive! Baszler stomps on the left arm of Yim and is working. She locks in the standing armbar on Yim. But Yim tugs away at the hair, once again, to break the hold. Baszler quickly lays Yim out. The challenger is trying her hardest to get back into the fight, going at the injured arm and pulling the hair. Yim even raked the champ’s eyes to turn things around.

Yim catches fire and is using the momentum on Baszler. The NXT crowd in Toronto is really dead at this moment but they’re sure trying to come back to life. Yim and Baszler are just trading away. They meet up top, the champ tries to lift Yim with that injured arm but can’t get her arm. Yim capitalizes and drops the champ off the top rope, followed by a near fall.

Baszler catches Yim in the Clutch but Yim headbutts her way out. She can’t fully capitalize and Baszler catches her again with the Clutch. Yim fights off by going at that injured arm again. Baszler flips it into the head scissors lock to make Yim tap.

WINNER by submission and STILL champion: Shaina Baszler

It was kind of a dull match. Baszler is a great heel champion and all but surely, a lot of people seem to be tired of her. Yim couldn’t really get the crowd into the match to the fullest. She definitely has shown much potential for a future run at the title!

Next up, Adam Cole (Bay Bay) and Johnny Wrestling have been in an awesome feud. They have gone back and forth with each other for some time now, but Gargano wants to become a 2 time champion while Cole looks to continue the global Bay Bay Championship tour! Who will come out as champ? Stay tuned, next!

2 Out of 3 Falls: Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole (c) – NXT Championship

Adam Cole seems to be the one that’s over with the fans tonight! They booed Johnny Wrestling and all. Both men look to have a ton of fire in their eyes tonight. They lock up and get a feel of each other once again to start the main event off. Their ring chemistry is definitely coming out, as they have been airing out history for about a decade.

Gargano finally gets a hold of the match after he faked a dive to Cole. He capitalizes and goes to work. Cole tries to turn it around but Gargano moves from in front of the steel steps, sending Cole leg first. Gargano goes to work in the now injured leg of Cole. On the apron, they go at it. Gargano catches Cole with a vicious kick to the back of the head. Cole drops to the floor and pulls Gargano outside to drop him back first onto the apron.

Cole is in control of this one, weakening up the challenger! Cole has the head scissors locked in but Gargano breaks the hold, going at the knee. Cole quickly regains control but Gargano lays him out for a quick breather. Gargano on the hot streak, with a series of kicks to the champ! Nothing is keeping the champ down and out for long as Adam Cole (Bay Bay) continues to get back to his feet.

Gargano looks to capitalize, putting the champ in the corner. Cole escapes the rights and tries to catch Gargano with a kick off the turnbuckle but his leg gets caught on the ropes. Gargano comes crashing on Cole’s injured leg! He goes back to work on the leg but Cole breaks the Figure-4 leg lock. Cole turns it around to get back in the match!

Gargano and Cole exchange a flurry of kicks, ending with the Sunset Drive by Gargano and a nearfall. Up top, Cole stops Gargano and goes for the counter powerbomb. Gargano tries to capitalize but Cole with a codebreaker in the ari, followed by the Michinoku Driver and a nearfall. The crowd is entirely into this one! The two go back and forth before they collide in the center of the ring.

Gargano sends Cole to the outside and goes for a suicide dive. Cole catches him with the kick. He wants to drop Gargano on the barricade but Gargano counters. Back in the ring, Cole catches Gargano with kicks and they go back and forth! Cole is in disbelief of Gargano kicking out before he goes to the outside and gets a chair. He used it as a diversion to kick Gargano in the nuts while the ref throws the chair out. Followed by a near fall. Gargano flips the script and hits Cole with the chair, disqualifying himself with the first fall.

Jorge Masvidal Would Piece Up Conor McGregor

Jorge Masvidal Would Piece Up Conor McGregor

Jorge Masvidal has called for a fight against Conor McGregor or a title shot. Yet, UFC president, Dana White said that won’t happen.

Why White says that fight won’t happen is because Masvidal is too big for McGregor. Which, Colby Covington agrees as he says “Gamebred” would piece up the Irishman.

“He would piece up Conor for sure,” Covington said to Submission Radio (via BJPenn.com). “No doubt about it. Conor’s too small. He’s a little guy and you know, this and that. So, that’s that, but you know, 170, we’re not talking about that, we’re talking about Marty Fakenewsman and we’re talking about that receding hairline that he has. He’s losing that hairline faster than he’s about to lose that number one contender Power Ranger belt. The guy’s on borrowed time right now, boys.”

Although White says the McGregor fight won’t happen, Masvidal says it makes sense to do him vs. Usman and “Gamebred” vs. McGregor.

“Absolutely (that works),” Covington added. “He knew that title shot was never his all along. We’re one of the best dynamic duos in the history of MMA, but let’s get it right, we are the Batman and Robin, of course, I’m Batman and he’s Robin, but you guys know what I mean.”

Whether or not the fight happens is to be seen, but Colby Covington is confident Jorge Masvidal would beat Conor McGregor.
