WWE WrestleMania Final Match Lineup And Plans

WWE WrestleMania Final Match Lineup And Plans

The road to WrestleMania will reach its final stop this week in New York for what can be considered Mania Weekend, as it is much bigger than WrestleMania itself. This year’s WrestleMania build, however, has given us many twists and turns, and some would even say the wrong direction. WWE got the news after most of the Mania plans were set, that Roman Reigns would be cleared to compete after his battle with Leukemia, which threw a pleasant short cut to the Road to WrestleMania. This WrestleMania will be available on traditional PPV outlets and Card will feature 17 matches. Below is the final, updated WrestleMania card, but please remember plans can change at anytime.

Raw Women’s Championship Match

Ronda Rousey (c) vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Charlotte Flair

This matchup has taken us on many turns, and many, including myself, would go on to say too many. Much on the controversy started at the Royl Rumble with Lynch’s tap out loss to Asuka in the center of the ring, but then going on to win the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. Charlotte was then added to the match by Vince McMahon himself. Charlotte would then go on and defeat Asuka to win the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship. The match now features not only one, but two of the Women’s Titles. WWE is building this as winner takes all, but still working on how that will work. Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey has gone from beloved fan favorite to a crazed former MMA fighter. All of these things obviously play into real life. All three women have tried to blur the lines of reality and storytelling in this feud. Just last week it was announced that this will main event the show.

Universal Championship Match

Brock Lesnar (c) vs Seth Rollins

When Roman Reigns went ill, WWE put Seth Rollins as their top baby face with a Royal Rumble Match win earlier this year. Brock and the Universal Championship has been on the most consistent things with the company the past few years. Brock has been able to leverage his UFC negotiating power and WWE negotiating power into what seems to be short term deals that continue to escalate. With Brock Lesnar returning to Saudi Arabia next month for WWE’s next show, it’s likely we see the Beast retain the title again.

WWE Championship Match

Daniel Bryan (c) vs Kofi Kingston

Kofi attempted to shatter all ‘glas ceilings’ on the way to ‘KofiMania’. This build has taken us on a rollercoaster of emotions with Vince McMahon finding every reason not to give Kofi a WWE Championship Match. Kofi, who has been with the company for over a decade, will finally get his rightful WrestleMania moment this Sunday in NY.

No Holds Barred Match

Triple H vs Batista

Beginning with Batista’s return to WWE at Ric Flair’s 70th birthday to ruin it, this match has gone on to be now seen as ‘Career vs Career’. Some have loved the promos between the two, while others have not. The bottom line is that it is a big time match with big name power, however, what is being told in the ring is what people will be talking about the following day.

Singles Match

Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre

WrestleMania dream matches can happen in mysterious ways. WWE’s biggest face in the company will battle the man that took the brothers of Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, then went on to say he will end Roman.

Singles Match

AJ Styles vs Randy Orton

Every year for Mania, you have a match that you think could be oustanding, but could it be phenomenal? True to being a ‘WWE Guy’, Orton will battle ‘The Face that runs the Place’, Styles. The tension between the two have been building for weeks and I expect an excellent worked match in this one.

Intercontinental Championship Match

Bobby Lashley (c) vs Finn Balor

Finn recently won the title by pinning Lio Rush in a two on one handicap match, only to lose it weeks later. Could we see a Demon victory on the grandest stage of them all? All local advertisements feature Finn in full paint as the Demon.

United States Championship Match

Samoa Joe (c) vs Rey Mysterio

Joe has been nothing short of amazing as of late for his character and delivery for WWE. To keep this short, this could steal the show.

Cruiserweight Championship Match

Buddy Murphy vs Tony Nese

The Women’s Battle Royal Match

Falls Count Anywhere Match

Shane McMahon vs The Miz

In a feud that started nearly a year ago, once again we see Shane in high profile match at WrestleMania.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

Sasha Banks and Bayley (c) vs Natalya and Beth Phoenix vs Tamina and Nia Jax vs The IIconics

The real question here is do we see the Four Horse Women hold the titles to end the show?

Singles Match

Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin

While many wanted Kurt’s last match to be against John Cena, the reality of it is that it’s Baron Corbin and I would not expect this match to go long.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Not offical for the show, but planned

Singles Match

John Cena vs TBD

Raw Tag Team Championship Match

The Revival (c) vs Ricochet and Aleister Black

WNW will be live all week from New Yorrk as our own Thomas Fenton will be live from MLW, Impact, NXT and G1 Supercard. Our very own Zack Krasney will be live from WrestleMania.

FITE TV was informed that they will not have the steaming rights for Double or Nothing.  Double or Nothing is set for May 25th at theMGM Grand. AEW has chosen and will go with Bleacher Report for the option of streaming service for the show. Turner purchased Bleacher Report in 2012 for $175 million. Bleacher Report attempted to do a PPV stream of Tiger vs. Phil on November 23rd but it wasn’t without it’s problems. People who purchased the stream had major issues viewing the stream. According to Darren Rovell, of ESPN, Bleacher Report ended up unlocking the link and giving away the stream to most for free.  However, they have worked extremely hard since then in order to fix any glitches or errors that may occur.

Obviously FITE TV can not be happy about this as they were a huge part of the streaming service for All In. The speculation of the continued negotiations with Turner look to have come full circle with this event.  Further information should be available soon.

Ask WNW: Becky to Raw? Sting vs. Undertaker? Is Charlotte the GOAT? Why So Many Teams in 2019 HOF Class?

Ask WNW: Becky to Raw? Sting vs. Undertaker? Is Charlotte the GOAT? Why So Many Teams in 2019 HOF Class?

Do you think it is time for Becky to move to Raw?

If it isn’t the current plan after WrestleMania, then it’s heavily being considered. I can’t say for sure how the Main Event Triple Threat Women’s match will end, however, it certainly seems that Becky is in line to be victorious. It would make sense after winning the Raw Women’s Championship for her to become a permanent member of the Raw roster. Remember, WWE is planning on doing a Superstar Shakeup 8 days after WrestleMania. It would make sense to make Becky officially a member of the Raw roster during that Shakeup.

Would you like to see Sting and the Undertaker at next year’s WrestleMania?

This is a really tough question. Personally, this was and still is a dream match of mine. This match was all I wanted to see for nearly 20 years give or take. However, as time goes by and these two icons grow older it makes it more and more likely it won’t be the match I hope for. I would end up putting SO MUCH pressure on this match to be amazing and while there is a chance it could be it likely wouldn’t be. I almost don’t want it to happen because if it did I’d likely be disappointed. It’s almost a “never meet your heroes” situation. I guess my answer is, if it happens I certainly won’t be unhappy with the decision, however, if it never happens I’ve already come to terms with it.

After winning her eighth Women’s title, is Charlotte the greatest female wrestler in WWE history?

This is questions that’s hard to put into an exact yes or no. People judge the greatest wrestlers in history in different ways. Do you lean on technical ability? If you do Kurt Angle might be the greatest in (male) history. Do you judge on mic skills? Shawn Michaels might be your guy then. Influence on outside media exposure onto pro wrestling? Hulk Hogan might be your pick. Championship reigns? Ric Flair or John Cena have to be your GOAT. Is Charlotte the greatest woman in WWE history? She certainly ticks all the right boxes. She’s talented in the ring, she’s got EIGHT Women’s Championship reigns under her belt, she’s got the lineage. However, that questions really can only be answered by each person asked. As of right now my answer always reverts to Trish Stratus being the GOAT but thinking about it I would probably have to shift my answer to Charlotte. As much as I think there’s a lot she can improve still, I think we’re watching her carve her legacy out in front of our very eyes.

Why this year WWE HOF saw so many tag teams or stable induct into the HOF?

This is a really good question, one that I didn’t even consciously notice until it was pointed out. I did realize that this year we are getting THREE double HOF inductees. Booker T, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels will all be inducted into the Hall of Fame for a second time in their respective groups/teams. As far as I’m aware WWE was in a bit of a scramble this year to fill out the HOF class. They were looking for someone big to headline, The Rock or The Undertaker were the main names I heard. When both declined for this year due to conflicting schedules and/or other reasons, WWE went with a backup plan. Degeneration X became the headline and WWE shifted onto teams and double inductees to add prestige to the inductions that were happening.

UFC Philadelphia Predictions

Confidence Level Scale

1: Gun to the head, forced to choose

2: Minimum confidence

3-4: A small level of confidence

5-6: Significantly clearer path to victory for one person.

7 – Strong confidence.

8-9: Extremely confident.

10 – Bulletproof Confidence, barring freak occurrence

Sodiq
Yusuff (8-1) vs. Sheymon Moraes (11-2)

The Contender Series alum Sodiq Yusuff will be looking to make it 2-0 in the UFC after stopping Suman Mokhtarian in the first round last December. To do so, he will need to defeat a man with only two losses, both coming to very high level opponents: current #1 bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes and rising featherweight phenom Zabit Magomedsharipov.

If Yusuff wants to hand Moraes his third loss, he should look to use his self-proclaimed “blacksplosiveness” very well on the counter, which is when Yusuff can be dangerous and attack in spurts. Sodiq Yusuff appears to be an MMA version of a basketball “streak shooter.” He waits for open opportunities to present themselves, and when he they do, he scores shots in flurries: a streak fighter, if you will.

Yusuff’s style can deceive many into believing he is an aggressive fighter, but I’m not sure that’s accurate. He is someone who seems to be comfortable allowing his opponent dictate the pace. And if they feel froggy and begin to get aggressive, then, and only then, Yusuff sees his opponent’s aggression and raises it two or three levels. Yusuff has composure beyond his years and is able to remain patient, throw in some leg kicks while he waits for power shots to open up, and he appears to have decent grappling.

For Moraes, the biggest thing will be not to let
Yusuff overwhelm him in his counters, and pace yourself. One thing about Moraes
is that he has slowed down in the past, and if that happens here, Yusuff could
definitely take the decision.

I’m going to put faith in the fight experience of Moraes and believe that his cardio will hold up in this one. The fact that Moraes has only lost to Marlon Moraes and Zabit Magomedsharipov gives me small confidence, not only because that’s all he has lost to, but because those opponents represent the larger fight that Moraes has had much more quality fight experience than Yusuff has had thus far. I also believe Moraes has a bit more striking versatility, as the better kicker of the two, and that every strike could matter in what I expect to be a close fight.

Prediction:
Sheymon Moraes

Confidence Level: 2.5/10

Paul Craig (10-3) vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu

This is an unpredictable fight on a few levels, but
there is one thing I can say with confidence: both fighters have a crystal
clear path to victory.

For Kennedy Nzechukwu, he is going to have to keep Craig on the outside, and with his 83” reach, this 6’5″ Nigerian certainly has the genetics to do just that. Paul Craig is no shorty himself, standing only one inch shorter than Nzechukwu at 6’4”, however his reach is seven inches shorter.

In order to pick Nzechukwu, it is almost as if you have to decide to disrespect Paul Craig. And in saying that, I do not intend to disrespect Nzechukwu in Craig’s place, but the reality is, six fights into his MMA career, no prior combat experience, still only being in his mid-20s (26), and most importantly, based on his technique up to this point, Nzechukwu appears to be very, very green. Because of his genetics, he has a pretty wide ceiling, especially with the right training and coaching, and I’m sure he will have improved prior to each of his bouts, including this one, but I do not believe he will be improved enough for Paul Craig.

Paul Craig’s path to victory is to rein in on his ego and adrenaline, collect himself, use your experience edge, and, above all, get the fight to the mat where Craig will have the clear advantage should he be able to keep Nzechukwu down. I believe Craig will be able to keep Nzechukwu down, at least long enough to use his underrated submission game to get the victory. Another thing about Nzechukwu is that in addition to being green, his level of competition has been nowhere even remotely near UFC caliber yet. With that in mind, against non-UFC opponents, that would make this a 10-0 fighter with top-notch grappling against a 6-0 fighter who still has a long way to go in all areas. Craig should take this fight with the right game plan.

Prediction: Paul Craig

Confidence Level: 4/10

Karolina Kowalkiewicz (12-3) vs. Michelle Waterson (16-6)

Two fan favorites will collide in this bout between two ranked strawweights, Karolina Kowalkiewicz (#6) and Michelle Waterson (#9). These are two technical strikers with different backgrounds, with Waterson having a base in karate and Kowalkiewicz having more of a kickboxing/Muay Thai style of fighting. Of the two, Michelle Waterson would be the one who is more likely to look to take the fight to the mat, but I expect Kowalkiewicz’s takedown defense to hold up and particularly avoid Waterson’s patented head-and-arm takedown. I envision this fight going to the judges and being scored to the better point fighter.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz is among the best point fighters in the division, while Waterson, though also capable of outpointing most women at 115 on any given night, she is at her best when she is fighting very aggressively and seeking a finish. Waterson is currently on a two-fight winning streak, both by decision, but I do believe that this time, the decision will not go her way. Ultimately, Karolina Kowalkiewicz has only lost to three of the toughest women to beat in the division, longtime champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Claudia Gadelha when she was still performing at peak levels, and most recently, Jessica Andrade. Meanwhile, Waterson has been bested six times. Waterson takes a lot of risks, which can lose her fights but it can also lose her rounds. I believe Kowalkiewicz’s composure will hold up should Waterson grow wild, and that her striking skills will edge Waterson out if she remains patient.

Prediction: Karolina Kowalkiewicz

Confidence Level: 4/10

Josh
Emmett (13-2) vs. Michael Johnson (19-13)

Josh Emmett makes his Octagon return for the first
time since February of last year when he takes on Michael Johnson who continues
to ease into new life in the featherweight division. Much like the previous
bout, this fight should remain standing throughout, with the better striker
getting the W.

Josh Emmett has the speed advantage with his movement, but Johnson has the speed advantage with his hands. I also believe that Johnson has a power advantage on the feet. One advantage Emmett does have in the standup department is that he is a superior volume striker. When factored in with his movement, it is not difficult to envision Emmett outscoring Johnson for a decision.

But I don’t think he will.

Michael Johnson is able to find success in his offense either going forward or fighting off of his backfoot, so Emmett’s movement shouldn’t be anything Johnson hasn’t seen before or that he would not be prepared to solve.

Michael Johnson has not earned a finish at featherweight yet, but that does not mean he has lost his power or even that it has diminished. Sure, Johnson having more power at lightweight would be logical as he would be larger, more energetic due to a lighter weight cut, which is something we have seen lately from other fighters, but do not be too quick to call Johnson a KO-artist of yesterday. He has fought some of the toughest, most durable opponents in the division, including Darren Elkins, Artem Lobov, and Andre Fili, whose only KO loss came by a flying head kick from Yair Rodriguez. Johnson can still crack, and we saw glimpses of that in the Elkins fight, the Lobov fight, and even his lightweight farewell fight against Justin Gaethje.

The last time Emmett competed against a man who can crack was his last time in competition, and he got knocked unconscious by Jeremy Stephens, a fight which, to this day, Emmett has still not fully recovered from, which is another concern. I’m expecting Michael Johnson to either get the finish or land the more meaningful strikes to win a close decision.

Prediction:
Michael Johnson

Confidence Level: 5/10

David
Branch (22-5) vs. Jack Hermansson (18-4)

This middleweight scrap may be the closest fight
pre-card to predict. What I do expect is a smart fight between two gritty men,
both looking to impose their will on the other but in conflicting ways. For
David Branch, I’m looking for the former WSOF fighter to try to grind
Hermansson out on the mat. But after knocking out a knock-out artist in Thiago
Santos, David Branch reminded fans that this veteran still has a few surprises
for the audience.

As for Hermansson, I expect him to come out as the more aggressive fighter and also the fighter with more heart. David Branch could very well outfight Jack Hermansson throughout the entire bout, but one thing we have learned from Jack Hermansson, specifically from his Thales Leites bout from last year, is that he will never give up. Jack Hermansson knows his way around a striking manual, as the Swede holds 11 victories by TKO. Hermansson also owns four submissions, but should he go down to the mat, I expect him to use his will and determination to struggle back to his feet, where he should hold the advantage.

David Branch will have the grappling advantage, but Hermansson will have the intangibles on his side as well as a striking advantage. I can even see Hermansson pulling of a surprise submission victory if the opportunity presents itself. Therefore, Hermansson has more paths to victories here and his never-say-die attitude makes it hard to count him out during a fight, let alone prior to one.

Prediction:
Jack Hermansson

Confidence Level: 2/10

Edson
Barboza (20-6) vs. Justin Gaethje (19-2)

Our main event will feature a fight that has the makings to be an instant classic. It will feature sensational striking artist Edson Barboza looking to win two straight against a certified savage in Justin Gaethje, who will be looking to do the same.

In Justin Gaethje’s last outing, he knocked out James Vick in the very first round, pulling off the slight upset and showing that he doesn’t always need to fight a war of attrition in order to win a battle. Such a result is one path of victory for Gaethje: get off to a fast start and land a knockout blow early in the fight, where his power will be the highest.

One area of Justin Gaethje’s game that we are still yet to see is his Division I wresting. As much as Justin Gaethje’s fighting style is arguably the most popular in the entire UFC right now, even some of his fans cannot help but express concern for what he is putting his body through in the brutal battles he has endured and have called for him to implement a higher fight IQ moving forward, most specifically using his wrestling credentials more frequently, even if just to mix up his offense a bit.

If there were ever a time to take that advice and use his wrestling, this is the fight to do it. Sure, doing so would disappoint many fans who are eager to watch what could be the most action-packed fight of all of Gaethje’s classics, but Gaehje needs to put his career and health ahead of appeasing the masses and understand that Edson Barboza was recently dominated by two wrestlers: Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kevin Lee. Gaethje does not need to make wrestling the focal point of his game plan, but he should at least mix in some takedowns to win rounds and save himself a few brain cells along the way.

But up until now, because of how stubborn Justin Gaethje has continued to fight, I have no choice but to side with the data and anticipate him to do the same thing once again. But this time, he will be doing it against a faster, more dynamic, sharper striker, which includes kicking. Barboza will leg kick even harder than the leg-kicking specialist Gaethje, and then proceed to kick Gaethje’s body and head, including and especially off the backfoot if Gaethje continues to press forward with abandon. Gaethje’s plodding forward movement just has flush Barboza wheel kick written all over it.

Some may rest their case on Gaethje’s toughness, but after watching how much Barboza was able to endure from Tony Ferguson, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Kevin Lee, I do no think Barboza will ever stop fighting, and when he does, his fighting will be more technical, crisper, and Gaethje could take a nauseating amount of punishment.

Because of Barboza’s ability to counter overly
aggressive strikers as well as fight well backing up when pressured and simply
being the better striker, Barboza should be able to win what will possibly be a
fight for the ages.

Prediction:
Edson Barboza

Confidence Level: 5/10

Gegard Mousasi vs. Rafael Lovato Jr. Headlines Bellator London

Gegard Mousasi is scheduled to defend his Bellator middleweight gold against Rafael Lovato Jr. in June.

Mousasi was initially set to defend his title back in January. “The Dreamcatcher” was forced off the Bellator 214 card due to a back injury. As a result, Lovato Jr. was also removed from the event.

Mousasi vs. Lovato Jr. Headed To London

Bellator has announced that Mousasi vs. Lovato Jr. has been rescheduled for June 22. The bout will take place inside The SSE Arena in London, England. Also featured on the card will be welterweight Paul Daley and bantamweight James Gallagher. Their opponents have not been revealed.

Mousasi captured Bellator middleweight gold back in May 2018. He finished Rafael Carvalho in the opening frame. The 185-pound champion went on to dominate welterweight title holder Rory MacDonald in his first title defense.

As for Lovato Jr., he’s been on a tear. The rising middleweight has been perfect so far in his professional mixed martial arts career with a 9-0 record. He has only gone the distance once. Lovato Jr. is coming off a third-round submission victory over John Salter back in Sept. 2018.

“I Don’t Want to Hurt Her” • MMA News

Every time Karolina Kowalkiewicz has her named called inside the Octagon or finds herself in front of the microphone, the public eye gazes a relaxed, calm, perhaps even gentle disposition. Of course, when the fight begins, that is a different story, and The Polish sweetheart then becomes The Polish Princess. At UFC Philadelphia, The Police Princess will be taking on Michelle Waterson, a woman whom Kowalkiewicz holds in such high regard that, with a quivering voice, she lamented fact that she must inflict pain upon her: (scrum transcript via Cageside Press)

“I think it’s a great match-up,” Kowalkiewicz said during a UFC Philadelphia media scrum. “But I really like Michelle, and I don’t want to hurt her, and I have to. So it’s a very tough fight for me.”

“I know Michelle is a great fighter, a great person,” she
continued. “She’s one of my idols, and this is a big honor for me, to fight
with her.” Kowalkiewicz would go on to praise Waterson as “a very nice person”
and very beautiful,” and would add, “She’s a mother, and she’s still fighting.
All her career, she’s on the top. It’s something amazing.”

In Karolina Kowalkiewicz’s last contest she was knocked
unconscious for the very first time in her MMA career at the hands of future
title challenger Jessica Andrade. As much as Kowalkiewicz admires
Waterson, this is a bounce-back that Kowalkiewicz needs. As one of the
few women to hold a victory over Rose Namajunas, that fact could make the path
to a title shot for Kowalkiewicz shorter than it is for most, should
Namajunas remain champion in the interim.

What are your thoughts on
Karolina Kowalkiewicz’s comments about her UFC Philadelphia opponent
Michelle Waterson?

Goldust Denies Contract Rumours, Claims He’s Still With WWE

Goldust recently took to Twitter so he could respond to allegations that his contract was expired in WWE and that he was now just waiting for his 90-day non-compete clause to expire.

The bizarre one responded to these rumours, saying the following:

The rumours are still a bound about the golden one possibly facing Cody Rhodes at AEW’s Double or Nothing event on May 25th in Las Vegas as the angle has been pushed with Cody getting set to face a mystery opponent with “personal” issues.

Jimmy Uso Will Serve No Jail Time, Fines Paid

Back in February, Jimmy Uso and Naomi were pulled over by police officers for driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Naomi had said she made a mistake but Uso was intoxicated and took off his shirt at one point while threatening to start a fight with one of the officers.

Thankfully, the situation was de-escalated quickly and Uso posted bond to be removed from jail.

Somewhat surprisingly, it was recently decided that Uso will not serve any jail time after pleading No Contest to a charge of interfering with a government employee and instead was given a $450 fine, which he paid and the case is now closed.

WNW Premium: Backstage News on Charlotte Flair Winning the Women’s Championship, Undertaker’s Post WrestleMania Status, John Cena’s WrestleMania Status, Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania? And More!

The following article is part of our premium news section. If you’re interested in this news and you’re not a premium subscriber, why not give it a try? We put out breaking premium news and backstage news on a frequent basis that we can 100% confirm. If you ARE a premium member, welcome back! Thanks for helping us do what we do.

-This past Thursday on WWE Smackdown we saw Charlotte Flair capture the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Asuka. For those wondering (And there are a lot of people wondering) where this decision may have come from, it wasn’t as “out of left field” as you might think. Back in January, in WNW Premium, we had discussed the possibility of WWE including both of the Women’s Championships into the main event of WrestleMania. At the time when it was discussed, it made more sense within the narrative that WWE was going to tell. They were going to use a fake Royal Rumble finish to incorporate both titles into the show. Over this past weekend, WWE creative got the feeling that they needed to make the WrestleMania Main Event even stronger now that it was officially the match closing the show. Once again, talk about incorporating both titles into the match started and Tuesday morning the call was made you have Charlotte beat Asuka for the Smackdown Women’s Championship on Smackdown so that both Women’s Championships would be featured in one giant Women’s Championship match in the main event of WrestleMania. The problem with this booking choice? It was extremely “shoot first and book later.” As of this writing, WWE does not have answers to the following questions:

Thanks for watching!Visit Website
Thanks for watching!Visit Website
Thanks for watching!Visit Website

-Is the Triple Threat now going to be for BOTH Championships or just the Raw Women’s Championship?

-Should Charlotte defend the Smackdown Championship before the Main Event in a second match?

-Should they unify the titles into ONE Women’s Championship and have it defended across both shows?

Now, WWE knows these questions NEED to be answered, and quickly, so the plan is to answer them in meetings this weekend. However, if it was that simple they probably should have done that going into Smackdown. I would expect plans to be formed, changed, and changed again several times before and possibly during Raw. Oh and for those also saying that WWE is burying Asuka, WWE doesn’t feel that way. The way they see it, she’s held that title the majority of the year and even tapped out Becky Lynch at the Royal Rumble. To repeat, Asuka is not in the doghouse, she’s not being buried, this was just WWE trumping the Raw Championship match over plans for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. While it doesn’t show much confidence in the Smackdown Women’s division, WWE had not come to any final decision for plans for the Smackdown Women’s Championship match and were having a tough time deciding what they wanted to go with. They saw this as a move that put the Smackdown Women’s Championship in the best light at WrestleMania.

-WWE, as of this weekend, currently does not have any plans or angles built around the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Not exactly shocking news, however, The Undertaker does plan on working the Crown Jewel show which is only a handful of weeks after WrestleMania. Undertaker receives one of his biggest annual paychecks from the Saudi show. This is important to the relationship with the Undertaker and WWE, while he still opens himself up for bookings he does work with WWE when the terms work for both parties. He booked himself for WrestleMania weekend and plans on fulfilling that promise.

-WWE does have plans for John Cena at WrestleMania; whether this is a match or an angle we’re not sure yet. Speculation has led many to believe that he’ll be interrupting Elias, however, I am told at this moment it may be something a little bigger than that. Plans keep going back and forth so often that the involvement of John Cena at WrestleMania seems to be certain at this point based on how many ideas they have for him.

-WWE is finalizing plans on how they will use Hulk Hogan during the WrestleMania weekend along with if they want him at WrestleMania itself. With Hogan it always comes down to, it’s the biggest Pro Wrestling event of the year and Hogan is the biggest name in the sport but does that outweigh the possible negative press that could result.

-WWE has continued to try to lock up contracts on deals that are expiring in the next 60 days. They’re making sure to keep all their talent “on lockdown.” Look for a good deal of contracts to be renewed in the next two weeks. However, as we get into the week of WrestleMania WWE plans to put the contract renewals on the backburner until after the event. They don’t want to put too much on their plates at the same time and too many of their staff will either be busy or out of the office.

-As we discussed heavily in WNW Premium, WWE is keeping an eye on the weather going into WrestleMania. Snow was ruled out a few weeks ago, but the forecast for rain seems likely at this point. WWE has started looking into ways to keep the stage and entrance ramp dry so the wrestlers don’t get wet on the way down to the ring. As for the fans, they’re on their own. If you’re going to WrestleMania make sure to bring a poncho because umbrellas may not be allowed into the arena.

Jon Jones vs. Thiago Santos, Nunes vs. Holm Set For UFC 239

So much for Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White has revealed to ESPN that Jones will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Thiago Santos at UFC 239 on July 6 in Las Vegas. On that same card, Amanda Nunes will put her bantamweight gold on the line against Holly Holm.

UFC 239 Has Its Mega Fights

Jones had been teasing a heavyweight fight against Miocic for July. The former UFC heavyweight champion even responded saying, “Been ready, see you there.” Looks like that wasn’t the plan after all with White’s latest reveal.

Santos earned his title opportunity after knocking out Jan Blachowicz last month. The win extended “Marreta’s” streak to four. He has gone 8-1 in his last nine outings.

Nunes is coming off a stunning knockout victory over Cris Cyborg in under a minute. The win earned her the distinction of being called a “champ-champ” as she added the women’s featherweight title to her mantle. She’ll be dropping back down to 135 pounds to defend her bantamweight gold.

Holm has gone 2-4 in her last six outings. She picked up a solid win over Megan Anderson at 145 pounds back in June 2018. “The Preacher’s Daughter” was set to meet Aspen Ladd earlier this month, but the bout was canceled and now Holm will get yet another crack at UFC gold.

What do you think of the title bouts revealed for UFC 239?

Ask WNW- McGregor In WWE, Cena And Undertaker Missing WrestleMania, Triple H Done Inside The Ring, WrestleMania Too Long

Ask WNW- McGregor In WWE, Cena And Undertaker Missing WrestleMania, Triple H Done Inside The Ring, WrestleMania Too Long

Since announcing his retirement from MMA, do you see Connor McGregor ever joining the WWE?

I just want to clarify something. This isn’t the first time that we have seen Connor McGregor announce his “retirement” from the sport of MMA. He did it a couple of years back, just to have a fight with Nate Diaz months later. McGregor is a lot of like Ronda Rousey in ways. Both dominated their respective sport and have house hold names. Rousey made the jump to WWE and you could say she has had one of the best rookie years as anyone in the company history. McGregor, in my opinion, is a character himself and would succeed in the world of professional wrestling. Never say never folks. I don’t see it happening anytime soon, but how great would it be if we saw Becky Lynch and Connor McGregor form a stable?

With just two weeks out, will this be the year without The Undertaker and John Cena At WrestleMania?

Unfortunately, it looks like we may get a WrestleMania in years, that we may not see John Cena or The Undertaker. John Cena was speculated and wished to be Kurt Angle’s final oppenant to be at the Showcase of the Immortals, but ultimately WWE went with the unfortunate direction of Baron Corbin. I have nothing against Corbin (I hate his attire and not a fan) but I cannot say that I want him to be in a high-profiled match against Kurt Angle, let alone it being his farewell match. With the Undertaker, I don’t want to speculate but it seems that the relationship between himself and WWE is on the rocky side. I cannot confirm that. It would be nice to see the Undertaker appear, possibly to interrupt Elias and his great performance at WrestleMania.

With Triple H puting his career on the line against Batista arc WrestleMania, will we see him hang up his boots?

Triple H has a lot left in the tank and I would go on to say he can keep up with most of the guys on the roster now. He isn’t the best of technical wrestlers, but he’ sure can put on a fight and can work. I expect nothing less here with his upcoming bout with Batista. I’m assuming that the career stipulation was added due to Batista will end his career this time around and the story follows with him wanting to end Hunter’s career. We will see Triple H as long as he can go and can put in the work.

Speculation going around is that WrestleMania will be 8 hours long? Isn’t that too much wrestling?

From what we know, WrestleMania is supposed to be stacked with over 15 matches and I can probably guarantee that Mania will be at least 8 hours long, including the pre-show. Is that too much and too long? That’s your choice to decide but one thing is sure, no matter how much everyone will complain, people will watch the entire broadcast of it. The reason being is that it’s WrestleMania. It’s the biggest show of professional wrestling. Sure, 8 hours is long, but I know I will be watching from start to end.

Donald Cerrone Believes Conor McGregor’s Retirement Is Ploy To Stay Relevant • MMA News

Donald Cerrone Believes Conor McGregor’s Retirement Is Ploy To Stay Relevant • MMA News

Donald Cerrone isn’t buying Conor McGregor’s retirement announcement.

McGregor took to Twitter recently and claimed he was walking away from the sport of mixed martial arts. This came as a surprise to some, but it’s not the first time McGregor said he’s hanging up his gloves. Back in April 2016, McGregor said he decided to retire young and thanked the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for the “cheese.” McGregor stuck around for a rematch with Nate Diaz and lightweight title bouts with Eddie Alvarez and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

‘Cowboy’ Has A Theory On McGregor’s ‘Retirement’

Donald Cerrone spoke to ESPN and gave his take on whether or not McGregor is truly done with MMA competition (via LowKickMMA.com):

“We saw it last night actually, we were up. I didn’t believe it. I don’t think it’s happening. I really don’t. I think it’s just a ploy to stay relevant. I don’t think he’s going anywhere.”

Cerrone went on to say that while McGregor seemed down for a bout against him, things got quiet on the “Notorious” one’s side:

“We were like ‘yes, absolutely, lets go.’ Then all of a sudden, he speaks to the UFC, we were supposed to get a fight – they wanted it for April, he said he wouldn’t be ready for April, lets push back for July, and then he just went radio silent. Couldn’t hear from him, couldn’t get ahold of him. It was crazy, it’s like, he was all for it, and then just went radio silent. I don’t know what the deal is, I don’t know what’s going on with him or what the plan is, but I don’t think he’s going anywhere. He might stay away for a little bit but he’ll be back.”

A report from the New York Times surfaced, claiming that McGregor is under investigation for sexual assault in Ireland. A spokeswoman from McGregor’s team called the situation a rumor.

MLW’s 2019 Battle Riot In NYC Press Release

Jimmy Havoc is “England’s Most Dangerous Man” a cautionary albeit fitting moniker for the sadistic Great Britain. Defeating the likes of “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and Shane “Swerve” Strickland in Death Matches in 2018, Havoc returns to MLW looking to destroy the seemingly indestructible luchador and put MLW in a death grip.

The league confirmed it is bringing in additional security in this lights out fight for the ages.

What impact will the empresaria of Promociones Dorado Salina de la Renta have on this match? What type of carnage will these two combatants unleash? Will New York ever be the same?

See the 2019 Battle Riot® LIVE in New York April 5 at the Melrose Ballroom as MLW presents a live national network special for beIN SPORTS (buy tickets). The card has a 7pm start time.
